Kowabunga! Kid leaves for tour in a few weeks!
Wow, less than 10 copies of Mike Tirehaus’ “Cartoon Girlfriend” remain in the Rat King webstore.
Make sure you pick up a copy before it is too late.
Tapes for next two releases have been ordered and tapes for FOUR releases after that will be ordered shortly! 2014 : Year of the RAT.
The wait is finally ogre, RKR-010 is available!
I was approached by Brian Galecki that Springfield artist, Mike Tirehaus was wanting to release a comic. I have been following Mike’s art career for awhile, and was a huge fan of his previous work, Gamer Heaven, so I eagerly jumped at the idea of making this a proper Rat King release. I am very excited at how it turned out.
Limited to 40 Copies with beautifully screen printed, blue covers and thick stock pages. This comic consists of new material as well as remastered classics.

Those boys in Jr. Meowzer are heading on tour next month! If you’re on the east coast make sure you try to check them out at one of these shows.
Super stoked to announce RKR-010…. a comic by Springfield artist, Mike Tirehaus. I’m very excited for this one!
Out at the end of the month.
Sean “Single Player” Neumann made this music video for song #4 from his recent release Could Care Less. The video was made from a bunch of footage from his cell phone that he spliced all together. This video features a lot of me, my friend Richie, wrestling, and me and my friend Richie wrestling.
As always, you can grab the tape over at : http://ratkingrecords.bigcartel.com/product/could-care-less-by-single-player
Finally, the Rat King update is here! Three really cool things coming at ya.
1) Jr. Meowzer // Lob Law split cassette : These two Flordia bands offer up three pop punk songs each. Speedy songs, catchy melodies. This tape definitely takes you “some place, where only palm trees grow.”
2) Kowabunga! Kid, “It Ends” 7” : Very first vinyl release from Rat King. Kowabunga! Kid tells their story of getting past that college daze in four poppy songs.
3) Single Player, “Could Care Less” : Hailing from Illinois, Single Player shows great skill and flexibility through these different song styles. He also shows that he could clearly care less.
All three are chillin’ around in the store!
I am really happy to be a part of all of these. I was able to meet Julio from Jr. Meowzer when Kowabunga! Kid went down to Orlando earlier this year. I really liked what I heard and then truly fell in love once they sent the masters over for this split. As a side note, the whole band was nice enough to come to the Kowabunga! Kid show in New York. We were both super far from home, but it was so nice to see Julio and finally meet the rest of the band.
The Kowabunga! Kid 7” is something jumped into. I have been wanting to do vinyl and I realized the best way is to just dive in heads first. In the process I was able to tour the pressing plant where we got it made and I just fell in love even more with the process of making vinyl. I am very lucky that Kamila Glowacki (bass of Kowabunga! Kid, physical art director of Rat King) was able to make the art for the cover and insert. As John laid the type on the insert, this is something so cool that we (all the members of K!K) were all able to collaborate on.
Also there is Single Player. I have known Sean for about a year now. My introduction to him was at an Easter show in Springfield where he was singing harmonies that I thought were so good. It’s not a secret, Sean has a fantastic voice. I got excited when he would play around town and when my buddy Sam told me that he was finished recording, I was eager to hear it. From watching him record bits and pieces, I knew he experimented with different mics and different styles. I always say these releases are catchy, but I keep singing “THREE WORDS” over and over.
